Barry is a 40-year network television veteran. He is a play-by-play broadcaster, a four-time Emmy Award winner, and in 2006 was voted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame for his work as a commentator. He began his career at KPIX TV in 1968, spent five years at NBC, ten years at HBO, eight years at ESPN, and 16 years at Fox Sports. After a stint at WAC Sports Network, Barry lent his talents to Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Showtime. Barry’s credits include play-by-play commentary for the Super Bowl, the Rose Bowl, the NCAA Final Four, the Olympic Games, the Tour de France, Wimbledon, the French Open and U.S. Open Tennis Championships, the World Gymnastics Championships, World Swimming and Diving Championships, World Figure Skating Championships, horse racing’s Triple Crown, World Cup Skiing, San Francisco Giants baseball, and more than 100 World Championship fights. Barry has also covered the Masters, U.S. Open, and British Open golf tournaments, the Indy 500, World Series Baseball, the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, and the Soccer World Cup. Barry is in his 30th year as the voice of Pac-10 Conference Football and Basketball and continues to broadcast a variety of events on national television.
